A Latin Closet. The purpose of this website is to share engaging and instructive activities with other Latin teachers. It is my personal storeroom of go-to activities, developed during my long and varied career teaching Latin. Many of them can be used to teach concepts or vocabulary in any subject but they are described here with Latin in mind.
Not Tested By Experts None of these ideas were evaluated in a controlled lab with screened subjects but in a classroom that was too hot or too cold, with students whose interest in Latin varied from obsessive fascination to counting the days until they could fulfill their language requirement. All the activities kept students on task through droning announcements, phone calls from the office, and passing traffic in the hall. They have been battle tested. So take a look at the games and stories by pulling down the tabs. Try them out with your own class. Most of the stories are not textbook specific and most of the activities can be used with many different levels. Afterwards, let me know how it went, particularly if it went well.
